The story of why this app exists, and who answers when you email.

It started with a forum post

In early 2025, a radiologist doing legal reads asked r/Radiology:

I'd like something similar to Powerscribe without the backend functionality. Basically dictation, templates and basic word processing... Does this exist?

The best answer the thread had was a workaround: dictate into a dummy report at work, then copy-paste.

Medical dictation quietly stopped selling to doctors. PowerScribe has no version an individual can buy; the price is a quote wall. Dragon Medical One wants a reseller call and a $525 setup fee before you dictate a word (US reseller pricing, as of July 2026). The mobile option, Dragon Anywhere, stopped taking subscriptions in July 2026 and left its users nowhere to go. So the actual state of the art, for a board-certified physician reading at the kitchen table, is typing, or the dummy-report hack.

Doctilio is our answer to that forum post.

What it does, in one paragraph

You dictate your findings, and Doctilio hands back a formatted, specialty-structured report: Findings, Impression, your terminology, in organ-system order. You review it, sign it, and export it as PDF or Word, or copy it straight into your workflow. You dictate every word, including the punctuation; the AI applies structure and composes nothing. Speech-to-text runs on-device. And it is not an ambient scribe: it never listens to or records a patient conversation. For exactly how your report data is handled, read our Privacy Policy. Who is behind it

Doctilio is built by its two co-founders, Prateek Dang and Ashish Bisht. We are software engineers, not physicians, and we will not pretend otherwise: the medicine in Doctilio comes from listening to the doctors who use it, and the product exists because their problem was real and unsolved. Two people build the app, answer the email, and ship the changelog. What we lack in white coats we make up for in how fast a reported problem becomes a fix.

Support is us

Email support@doctilio.com and we answer, within two days. There is no ticket queue and no bot. If something in the app wastes a doctor's evening, we want to be the first to know.

Try it on your own reads

Doctilio is on the App Store with a 7-day free trial (it converts to a paid monthly subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel; cancel anytime in your subscription settings). Android is coming soon: join the waitlist from the contact page.
